About Us

Knox Dance was established in 1992 by Katrina Cichowski. It has grown over the years to include many styles of dance from beginner to professional. Our school offers classes from 3yrs through to advanced adult classes in all styles. Our aim is to provide quality learning and development with an exceptional standard of training based on classical ballet technique in a disciplined yet encouraging atmosphere. We believe in consistency and regular classical ballet classes as the main training technique to encourage high level performance of all other supplementary dance styles and to help students reach their full potential. Students are encouraged to take ballet as their main subject and to add other extra styles as per preference. We aim to establish confidence, self-discipline, creativity, and a love of dance & theatre through regular exams, concert and competitions and other performance opportunities. Students have access to the training required to take their dancing to the next level.

Exams are offered in the SFD syllabi, boasting a 100% pass rate in all exams since the school’s opening. We also offer solo and troupe competitions to selected students as well as an end of year concert and other performance opportunities throughout the year.

Past and present students have been involved in professional theatre productions such as Billy Elliot, Young Dancer’s theatre, Peter & the Wolf, The Nutcracker and many more. Many students have been accepted to full time dance courses such as Transit Dance, Patrick’s Studios, The Edge, Dance World & Dance Factory, or have gone on to gain their teaching certificates and now teach dance in numerous dance schools.

Our facilities include three fully equipped studios with air conditioning, sprung floors, ballet barres and full length mirrors, as well as a student lounge.
